Discover Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc Viognier 750ml:
Crunchy, bright and cheerful, Chenin Blanc Viognier is a white perfumed mixture with a bouquet of honeysuckle and orange blossom, as well as tropical fruity lithium and pineapple fragrances, complemented by green apple, lemon and grapefruit. The starter is bright and fresh with aromas of fresh ginger, ruby grapefruit, lemon curd and Granny Smith apples. Despite being a fresh and juicy wine, it has an incredible medium weight with spicy tears that take the flavors to a long exposure.
This versatile wine blends well with a whole range of dishes, from light salads to seafood, and especially with dishes with a touch of spice – its fine sweetness provides balance along with a soft touch of warmth. It’s the perfect infusion to start the evening with appetizers like goat cheese, radish and olives. Also try Chenin Blanc + Viognier with aromatic Thai curry, frittata with sweet onions and ricotta or shrimp and avocado toast.
About the Winery
Since 1978, the Pine Ridge vineyards have been leaders in the production of iconic Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the Salto de Veado area. Our winery is situated beneath a pine grove that offers a complete view of the rugged palisades that speak to the dramatic geological origin of our house and its world famous soils. Today our vineyards cover four additional areas in the Napa Valley – Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford and Carneros – and are dedicated to creating powerful expressions of each individual terroir.
Their winery and all the vineyards are Napa Green Certified, with a conservation program fully adapted to each site to promote and protect biodiversity. The vineyards, located deep in the Sacramento delta along the deep banks of the Sacramento River, include the Clarksburg AVA. The river delta flows through the cold air and Pacific mist channels, creating a cooling effect in the area. Warm summer days quickly replace cool nights and provide excellent conditions for growing grapes. Although there are some grape varieties that grow here, Chenin Blanc is the one that stands out the most.
The Clarksburg Association of Winegrowers and Oenologists, consisting of almost 50 farmer members and over a dozen wineries, has been working since the late 1980s to promote high quality wines in its region.
Critical Acclaim
Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines
Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape type best known for producing dry white wines. Its taste distinguishes it from most other white wine grape types, making it light and pleasant.
The most frequent Sauvignon Blanc taste notes are tropical, tree, and citrus fruit. When the wine originates from a colder region, subtleties of dates, papaya, melon, and many aromas of herbs or dry underbrush are more prominent. You may detect pieces of English pudding, custard, and vanilla if you're exposed to oak. While it is perhaps best recognized for being the main white wine grape type in the Bordeaux area of France and the Loire Valley, sensuous Sauvignon blancs are also produced in New World wine growing locations like as Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in California. In addition, Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for being part of the mix that produces the sweet dessert wine known as Sauternes in Bordeaux.
This grape variety thrives in both cold and warm regions and a wide range of soil types. As a result, it's a little more complicated. In New Zealand, for example, the kind of soil on which Sauvignon Blanc is produced has a significant impact.
About the Producer: Pine Ridge Winery
Pine Ridge Vineyards is a Napa Valley wine producer located in Stags Lip (AVA) (Wine Zone of America). The winery was founded in 1978 by Gary Andrus and specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Stags Lip, Rutherford, Oakville, Carneros and Howell Mountain vineyards. The property spans 200 acres (80 hectares) of land, with the first vineyard being planted on steep terrain in Stags Leap. This original vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, as well as many of the later acquired vineyards. The only exception is the cooler vineyard of Carneros, where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown. The flagship wine in the portfolio is Fortis Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend of the best blends from each vineyard in each appellation. Ridge also produces several other Cabernet Sauvignon wines, each representing a different appellation, as well as various blends and varietal wines from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
