Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines
Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape type best known for producing dry white wines. Its taste distinguishes it from most other white wine grape types, making it light and pleasant.
The most frequent Sauvignon Blanc taste notes are tropical, tree, and citrus fruit. When the wine originates from a colder region, subtleties of dates, papaya, melon, and many aromas of herbs or dry underbrush are more prominent. You may detect pieces of English pudding, custard, and vanilla if you're exposed to oak. While it is perhaps best recognized for being the main white wine grape type in the Bordeaux area of France and the Loire Valley, sensuous Sauvignon blancs are also produced in New World wine growing locations like as Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in California. In addition, Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for being part of the mix that produces the sweet dessert wine known as Sauternes in Bordeaux.
This grape variety thrives in both cold and warm regions and a wide range of soil types. As a result, it's a little more complicated. In New Zealand, for example, the kind of soil on which Sauvignon Blanc is produced has a significant impact.

About the Producer: Whitehaven Wine Company
Whitehaven Wine Company is a wine producer in the Marlborough region of New Zealand. Founded in 1994 by Sue and Greg White, the company produces a wide range of predominantly white wines from Whitehaven and Greg's portfolios. The last label was created in honor of Greg White, who passed away in 2007. The Whites rented a small winery on the outskirts of Blenheim and, after some initial success, were able to move operations to a new facility in the so-called Golden Marlborough District . Mile” - a strip of vineyards and wineries outside Renwick, where the winery is located to this day. Whitehaven grows from many different vineyards in Marlborough, from the Wairau Valley in the north to Kekerengu in the south. The region is experiencing a significant change in daytime temperature, contributing to a long growing season. In addition, the vines are planted in sandy clay soil on top of the deep layers of freely draining pebbles, which reduces the fertility of the vines, obtaining less fruit with more difficulty. Whitehaven's portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Grüner Veltliner and rosé wine. Greg's commemorative label includes Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, while Samantha, a sparkling wine named after Sue and Geg's daughter, was launched in 2018. The company also produces a portion of Koparepare (Maori for "gift" or "contribution") label. whose profits go to the LegaSea Sustainable Fisheries and Marine Protection Initiative. Appalaça Bay is another range of the winery.
