Producer Information: Barefoot Cellars
Barefoot Cellars began in 1986 in California’s Sonoma County, founded by winemaker Davis Bynum with a vision to create approachable wines that celebrate the region’s sun-drenched vineyards. The brand quickly became known for its playful footprint label and commitment to making wine accessible for all, focusing on fruit-forward styles that highlight California’s diverse terroir. Barefoot emphasizes sustainable practices and community involvement, often supporting local causes through their “Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project.” Beyond their popular Moscato, they offer a wide range of varietals including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, and Merlot as well as sparkling wines like Barefoot Bubbly. Their portfolio also extends into canned spritzers and hard seltzers crafted with the same easy-drinking philosophy that has made them a staple in American households.

Moscato: Origins, Flavor & Pairing Guide
View All Moscato Products →Moscato is a sweet, fruity wine made primarily from the Muscat grape variety, specifically Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains. Known for its low acidity and light to medium-bodied texture, Moscato offers a delightful drinking experience characterized by its smooth mouthfeel and vibrant flavor profile that includes notes of peach, apricot, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and citrus.
This versatile wine hails from regions such as Italy’s Piedmont, Australia, California’s Central Valley, and France’s Alsace. Often crafted using cool fermentation techniques to maintain its fruitiness, Moscato can also be produced as a sparkling wine (Moscato d’Asti). It pairs beautifully with spicy Asian dishes, fruit-based desserts, light cheeses like goat cheese, and fresh fruits. Best served chilled at 45-50°F (7-10°C), it is perfect for casual sipping or as an aperitif.
