Critical Acclaim

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The non-vintage Otima 10-Year Old Tawny Port reveals a medium ruby/amber/garnet color, loads of kirsch and cedar intermixed with a touch of brown sugar in the nose, rich, full-bodied flavors, a burgeoning complexity and big aromatics. This is a full-bodied, silky smooth Tawny Port that should age easily for 8-10+ years.
Wine & Spirits
Light amber-tawny in color, this wine is delicately balanced between freshness and age. There’s brisk, tart peach flavor along with more mature tones of pale berries and woodsy mushrooms. Hints of tobacco smoke add to the wine’s elegance.
Wine Spectator
Racy and fresh, with detailed green fig, dried cherry, incense and hazelnut notes. Offers a long, focused finish. Drink now.

About the Producer: Warre's

Warre's is one of the most famous Port wine houses in Portugal, often producing the renowned vintage port. It also produces a variety of ports in a variety of styles, including tan, ruby and white, as well as several vintage ports from the same vineyard. The history of this house dates back to 1670, when a company was founded in the region by two Englishmen, Burgoyne and Jackson, which sold wine, olive oil, fruit, fresh food and wool. In 1729, William Warr arrived in Portugal and became a partner of the so-called Clark, Thorton and Warr. In the late 18th century, Warrs was one of the biggest port merchants, with around 10 people. percentage of total exports. Furthermore, it was one of the first port houses to build a lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia (on the left bank of the Douro river in front of the city of Porto), where most port producers age before being released. Until 1905, when Andrew James Symington was admitted into a partnership with Warre and Co., it was the exclusive property of the Warr family. Today, Warre's is run by the 13th generation of the Symington family, who also own the Doe and Graham harbor houses. Douro, of which the best known are Quinta da Cavadinha, Quinta do Retiro Antigo and the recently acquired Quinta de Telhada. These three vineyards are used to make different Ports throughout the portfolio, each with different characteristics: Quinta da Cavadinha produces fresh aromatic and acidic notes, while Quinta do Retiro Antigo produces wines with greater concentration. The Quinta's Vintage Port typically comes from these two vineyards, although the fruits of Quinta de Telhada will soon become part of the mix. In those years when the harvest is not declared, the Port for harvesting a vineyard is prepared from the Cavadinha vineyard. Warre's also boasts a variety of labels, including Otima tawny and Porto harvest, aimed at a younger crowd than those traditionally associated with ports. Warre's Warrior is the company's backup door seal.
