Discover Malbec Wines
Malbec is a full-bodied, rich red wine with dark, intense notes. It has lovely black fruit tastes, as well as spice aromas and floral undertones on occasion. Malbec has varying degrees of complexity depending on the winemaker and the area where it is produced. Malbec is a wine with a rich purple hue and a substantial body. Malbec grapes are tiny, dark-colored, and have thick skins, resulting in a wine with rich fruity flavors and mild tannins. Malbec has a greater alcohol content than Merlot or Pinot Noir.
About the Producer: Rutini Wines
Rutini is a leading wine producer in Mendoza, Argentina. It was founded in 1885 in Coquimbito by Felipe Rutini, an immigrant from a family of Italian winemakers. It is one of the pioneers in the wine business in the region and, in 1925, it became the first winery to plant vines in the Tupungato Valley. The flagship wine in Rutini's portfolio is Felipe Rutini, a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. It is a tribute to founder Felipe Rutini, now known as one of the great Italian winemakers in Mendoza. Other wines in the collection are the Vinha Única line and the Apartado series, derived from the Spanish verb "apartar", which means to separate. The property has three vineyards in Altamira, La Consulta and Tupungato with approximately 250 hectares (617 acres) of planted vineyards. A large number of grape varieties are grown, but the focus is on Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The state-of-the-art winery in Tupungato Vineyard offers optical sorting systems, rotary fermenters, custom-made conical stainless steel tanks and a temperature-controlled cellar. holds 6,000 barrels. The former Coquimbito winery is now the largest wine museum in South America.
