The rugged, small-acreage Shoresh Vineyard on our estate provides the terroir for the grapes that went into making the 2015 vintage of Shoresh. The plants have to work harder to find nutrients in this shallow and poor soil, which leads to grapes that are more concentrated and have a wider range of flavors. This complex wine is made from a blend of Syrah (45%), Cabernet Sauvignon (41%), and Petit Verdot (14%), and it features aromas of black fruit and spices. The wine possesses a mouthfeel that is both lovely and well-balanced. The Shoresh 2015 was aged for a total of sixteen months in barriques made of French oak before being bottled. The wine is ready to drink now, but it has a long life ahead of it in the bottle and will continue to get better over time. Shoresh 2015 is the product of collaborative effort between our consultant, Mr. Jean-Claude Berrouet, and us. Mr. Berrouet was the previous Technical Director of Chateau Pétrus.
