Sandeman, Tawny Porto 10 Years Old – aged port premium to the dynamic nature. The grapes for port wine is grown only along the Douro River. Here is a very favorable climate for aging varieties permitted for the production of port wine. The harvest begins in late September, the berries are delivered to a modern factory. To prepare the port uses traditional methods. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Then the wine is aged in oak barrels. In 1790, George Sandeman, an ambitious young Scotsman from Perth, founded a wine business in London. He bought his first wine cellar and started trading in Porto and Sherry. Sandeman brand was registered as a trademark in 1877 (the first registration of trade marks), making it one of the oldest in the world.
