Suntory is a Japanese business group best known for its whiskey variety, though other interests include soft drinks, beer, wine and health foods. In 2014, it bought Beam Inc., whose brands include Jim Beam and Maker's Mark, Canadian Club and Courvoisier. In addition to the products in which the Suntory brand stands out, such as Suntory Kakubin, Gold, Reserve and Old beers and whiskeys, there are several sub-brands. These include the Hibiki blended whiskey (introduced in 1989) and the Hakushu and Yamazaki single malt whiskeys.
