Discover Longrow 15Yr Red Scotch Pinot Noir:
Discover this Longrow 15Yr Red Scotch Pinot Noir and get it delivered to your door. Aroma: Sweet and earthy. To start, we’re blending moist earthy elements like soils, damp hay, and dunnage warehouses with red berries, particularly cranberries. The supporting cast consists of a leather that actually smells musky and is pretty sweaty. Trademark Longrow oily/pungent smoke is also there, but it’s much milder than in some other bottlings I’ve tried. The earthy and musky overtones are diminished while the fruity smells are enhanced. Taste: Livelier and less “changing room” than the nose. A nice malty core and some leather combine with orange peels and raspberries (fresher this time). The whole range of winey flavors and some hefty tannins are now there, coupled with a pretty noticeable Pinot Noir influence. As opposed to what you might anticipate, the smoke smells more like charred wood embers and smoldering tobacco leaves. Finish: Moderately smokey with a hint of white pepper.

Scotch whiskey, a distinguished spirit originating from Scotland, is primarily made from malted barley for single malts and grains for blended varieties. This iconic drink undergoes a meticulous distillation process using pot stills for single malts and column stills for grain whiskies, followed by an aging period of at least three years in oak casks, often previously used for bourbon or sherry. The result is a diverse range of flavors and aromas that reflect the unique characteristics of its regions of origin.
Single malt Scotch typically boasts rich and complex flavors with notes of fruit, spice, smoke, peat, and oak, while blended Scotch offers a smoother profile with balanced hints of caramel, vanilla, and light smoke. The texture can vary significantly—from smooth and creamy to rich and oily—depending on the style. Scotch whiskey is versatile in its consumption; it can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks and serves as a key ingredient in classic cocktails like the Rob Roy or Blood & Sand.
