Discover Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Cabernet Sauvig:
Intense red and saturated with purple edges. Expressive and saturated nose with chassis and blackcurrant scents. Elegant taste with round and resistant tannins, with fresh cherry flavor and light toast.
Combines well with the high flavors of lamb shank with herbs or pork fillet with mustard and honey. Mixture: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdo, 2% Carm?n?re.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the most cultivated grape in the New World. Chilean cabs are elegant and highly respected for their complexity and variety of characteristics resulting from the nuances of what the Chilean landscape gives to the grapes. The thick skin leads to classically high tannins, and strong red and black fruit characteristics, both on the nose and palate.
Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle (DBL) is one of the most dynamic and influential wine producers in Chile. The Lapostolle family of winegrowers began producing fine wines and spirits in France in 1827. In 1994 Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, a member of the sixth generation of the family, and her husband Cyril de Borne, were among the first to see the potential of the Apalta Valley terroirs in Chile to produce high quality red varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenaire and Merlot. In 2005, the iconic DBL wine “Closs Apalta” went down in history, becoming the first and only South American wine to date to be ranked 1st in the Top 100 list of the most famous wines. Alexandre and Kirill joined their son, Charles de Borne, in their simple and ambitious goal: to create world-class wines using the philosophy of French winemaking and the excellent terroirs of Apalta. Charles did a great job to introduce variants of Syrah and Roses, such as Sinzo and Grenache, to analyze terroirs and sustainable practices throughout Apalta. World famous winemaker Michel Rolland has been advising DBL from the start and working with Charles to create wines that express family taste and Apalta’s unique terroirs.
