Discover Cabernet Sauvignon Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine grape variety from the vitis vinifera grape plant species. It is the world's most commonly planted red wine grape variety, and its wines have lately been rated as the most sought-after in the world. When vinified properly, it may produce a full-bodied, complex, fruit-forward, and dry wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape owes most of its fame to its origins in the Bordeaux area of France. Traditionally, these wines have a strong crimson and black fruit flavor with a pronounced tannic component.

Because of its flavor profile and simplicity of production, Cabernet Sauvignon is a popular grape type among wine consumers and vintners both. The vines are very resilient, adapting to a wide range of temperatures and terroirs. They grow grapes with thick skins that are resistant to harsh conditions such as frost and hail.

Cabernet Sauvignon has large yields, which is a major plus for winemakers since it is one of the most popular red wines in the world.

About the Producer: Clos Apalta

Clos Apalta is a prestigious brand owned by Casa Lapostolle, one of Chile's most famous wineries. Some wines are made from fruits grown in the Apalta vineyard in the Kolchagua valley. While Casa Lapostolle's main winery is located in Cunaco, Clos Apalta has its own production in the vineyard. It is a gravity-powered winery built on seven levels on the side of a mountain. The roof of its circular tank room is inspired by barrel posts. 60 hectares (150 acres) are planted with an amphitheater at an altitude of 150 to 300 meters above sea level. There are also different types of soil - these and the difference in height produce many different microterroirs. The oldest plots were planted between 1915 and 1920 with stocks brought over from France at the turn of the century. The iconic wine of the same name is hand-picked in the best themes night and usually consists of about two-thirds of the Carmenere. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are the main secondary ingredients, and some vintages will have Cabernet Franc or Petit Verdot. Clos Apalta is fermented in large oak barrels and aged in new oak barrels for about two years. The second wine is Le Petit Clos. , was presented with the 2014 vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon is the main ingredient, although the proportion varies in the first vintages (40 to 95 percent). The fruit from the Apalta farm can also be used for other wines in the Casa Lapostolle portfolio.
