Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines

Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape type best known for producing dry white wines. Its taste distinguishes it from most other white wine grape types, making it light and pleasant.

The most frequent Sauvignon Blanc taste notes are tropical, tree, and citrus fruit. When the wine originates from a colder region, subtleties of dates, papaya, melon, and many aromas of herbs or dry underbrush are more prominent. You may detect pieces of English pudding, custard, and vanilla if you're exposed to oak. While it is perhaps best recognized for being the main white wine grape type in the Bordeaux area of France and the Loire Valley, sensuous Sauvignon blancs are also produced in New World wine growing locations like as Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in California. In addition, Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for being part of the mix that produces the sweet dessert wine known as Sauternes in Bordeaux.

This grape variety thrives in both cold and warm regions and a wide range of soil types. As a result, it's a little more complicated. In New Zealand, for example, the kind of soil on which Sauvignon Blanc is produced has a significant impact.

About the Producer: Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates

Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates is one of California's largest wine producers. It has an extensive wine portfolio covering a variety of wine styles and price ranges. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are arguably the most important Kendall-Jackson grape varieties, but the wines are also made from Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel. The property was founded in 1974 when Jesse Jackson acquired 80 acres (32 hectares) of land that would later become part of the AVA Sonoma Valley (American Wine Zone). His first wine, 1982 Chardonnay, was a great success and helped establish the variety's place in California wine. Jackson was also a pioneer in sustainable development in Sonoma, which influenced the practice in both the vineyard and winery. The size of the property means that there are several terroirs that stretch across Northern California and the central coast. Kendall-Jackson harvests grapes from cool-climate vineyards in Anderson Valley, Monterey and Santa Barbara, as well as Sonoma and Napa. Vineyards are planted on slopes and valleys, as well as in cooler coastal areas, which means that Kendall-Jackson can produce a wide variety of grapes in a variety of styles. In the cellar, the individual sections of the grapes are stored separately and mixed only after fermentation. ... Winemaking depends on wine, but the use of oak is important to Kendall-Jackson - Jesse Jackson founded his own mill in France and had a stake in a cooper shop in Missouri. Kendall-Jackson's portfolio includes several models, the main collection being Stature. Red is a blended wine from Bordeaux, whose grapes are grown in a low-yielding hillside vineyard in Napa Valley. The white color comes from the Chardonnay grown in the Camelot vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley. The Grand Reserve variety forms the core of Kendall-Jackson's portfolio and is made from grapes grown on the property. Vintner's Reserve and Avant ranges cover varietal wines from across California, while the new KJ range is the entry-level line. Kendall-Jackson is part of the Jackson Family Wines Group, also founded by Jess Jackson. It is a multinational winery with a variety of wineries around the world, including Cardinale and Lokoya in America, Château Lassegue in France, Yangarra in Australia and Capensis in South Africa.
