Discover Shiraz Wines

Shiraz, also known as Syrah, is a prominent, dark colored red wine. Despite the fact that Shiraz's spiritual home is France, it has been planted successfully all over the world. It takes on diverse forms based on the temperature, soil, and regional style, but some traits stay consistent.

Shiraz h is known for being strong and full-bodied, with aromas of smokiness, black fruit, and pepper spice. It can be round and fruity or thick and tannic in style. Syrah is also known as Shiraz in warmer parts of the New World, such as Australia. Syrah/Shiraz, by any name, has a style for everyone.

Shiraz, whatever you call it, is one of the deepest, darkest red wines available. This wine is darker than Cabernet Sauvignon, and it's so dark that you'd have a hard time seeing through it if you held a glass up to the light. Shiraz is a full-bodied wine with a lot of mouth-drying tannins, so it feels heavy in your mouth; it has flavors like berries, pepper, tobacco, and even smoked meat. While Shiraz pairs well with meat, it also goes well with a variety of other foods, so try it with whatever you like. Shiraz boasts one of the highest levels of health-beneficial antioxidants due to the high level of tannins contained in the wine.

About the Producer: Jacob's Creek

Jacob's Creek is an Australian wine producer with a large portfolio spanning multiple regions and grape varieties. Located in the Barossa Valley, it is best known for its inexpensive wines made from classic Australian varieties such as Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine portfolio is presented in a wide range under different names, which are exported to over 60 countries around the world. The Reserve line, launched in 2000, includes varietal wines from the Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling varieties. The Classic main collection includes a range of varietal wines as well as Grenache - Shiraz and Shiraz - Cabernet blends. The company also produces a wide range of sparkling wines in the Champagne, Sauvignon Blanc and Glera varieties. While the company is best known for its everyday wines, the extensive lineup includes a range of luxury cuvees, many of which predate the formation of the Jacob's Creek brand. These include Steingarten Riesling from Eden Valley, a blend of Johann Shiraz and Cabernet, Centenary Hill Barossa Shiraz and Double Barrel Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. Gramp & Sons was founded in 1847 when Bavarian immigrant Johann Gramp planted vines on the banks of Jacobs Creek. The first wines were produced in 1850 under the Orlando Wines name, but the Jacob's Creek name did not appear on the bottle until 1976. Today, the brand is owned and operated by the global beverage company Pernod Ricard.
