Gosling Brothers is a drinks producer that is based in Bermuda, a British Overseas Territory located in the North Atlantic Ocean. The company was founded in 1806 by James Gosling, who had emigrated from England to Bermuda with his brother Ambrose. Initially, the company was a wine and spirits merchant, but in 1857, the Gosling family began producing their own rum.
Today, Gosling Brothers is best known for its flagship product, Gosling’s Black Seal Rum. This dark, rich rum is made from a blend of aged rums that are distilled in pot stills and aged in oak barrels. The rum is then blended and bottled at the Gosling Brothers facility in Bermuda. From the pirate life on the high seas to the paradise islands of the Caribbean, perhaps no other spirit evokes a story as romantic as Rum. Produced by the fermentation and distillation of molasses or freshly squeezed sugarcane juice, cachaça has an alcoholic content of 20% to more than 70% and comes in a range of shades from light to dark. The highest quality rum is normally produced in distillation stills and aged in wood, while the cheapest clear or "white" rum is produced in distillation stills and bottled without aging in barrels. Naturally, rum is the basis for tropical cocktails like Dakiri and Mojito.
