This versatile white has delicious notes of apricot and caramel apple that are restrained by good acid structure and tightwire minerality. It has been partially barrel-fermented in French and American oak and partially stainless steel-fermented. Honeysuckle flowers adorn the tongue, and floral flavors linger on the palate and nose.
Michael David Winery
“Michael” and “David” are brothers Michael and David Phillips, whose family has grown fruits, vegetables, and wine grapes in the Lodi area since the 1850s. The Phillips family has been growing grapes for five generations, with Michael and David being the fifth generation. The sixth generation has recently joined the family business.
The Phillips family enjoys highlighting the significance of fine wines with distinctive and enjoyable labels. For the Michael David Winery, winemakers Adam Mettler, Derek DeVries, and Jeff Farthing are known for making Lodi’s renowned Old Vine Zinfandels as well as Rhone varieties like Ancient Vine Cinsault and Syrah.
The Phillips have embraced some of the state’s most cutting-edge sustainable agricultural practices because they farm with the needs of future generations in mind. The family’s vineyards, which cover 800 acres, are all third-party certified, and the state’s first per-ton bonus was given to contracted growers who wanted to continue the family’s tradition.

Chardonnay is a versatile white grape variety known for producing wines that can range from crisp and mineral to rich and buttery. This popular wine showcases a diverse flavor profile, featuring notes of apple, pear, citrus, tropical fruits, and stone fruits, making it appealing to a wide range of palates.
The aromas of Chardonnay often include green apple, lemon zest, peach, pineapple, vanilla, and buttered popcorn with occasional hints of oak. Its texture can vary significantly; some Chardonnays are creamy and full-bodied while others are light and crisp. Commonly produced in regions such as Burgundy in France and California in the USA, this wine pairs beautifully with grilled chicken or fish dishes, creamy pasta, lobster, risotto, and soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert.
