Discover Fortaleza Tequila Blanco Still Strength:
Fortaleza Tequila Blanco Still Strength is a remarkable spirit that embodies the rich heritage and craftsmanship of traditional tequila production. Handcrafted in small batches at the renowned Tequila Los Abuelos distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, this exceptional tequila offers a unique and authentic taste experience.
What sets Fortaleza Tequila Blanco Still Strength apart is its high proof. Bottled at 46% ABV (alcohol by volume), it delivers an intense and robust flavor profile that showcases the true essence of agave. This higher alcohol content allows for a more concentrated expression of the tequila’s natural flavors, resulting in a bold and vibrant taste.
Made from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave, Fortaleza Tequila Blanco Still Strength undergoes a meticulous production process that adheres to traditional methods passed down through generations. The agave plants are carefully selected and harvested by hand, ensuring only the finest quality piñas (agave hearts) are used.
After harvesting, the piñas are slowly cooked in traditional stone ovens for up to three days. This slow cooking process enhances the natural sweetness of the agave while preserving its distinct character. The cooked piñas are then crushed using a tahona (a large stone wheel) before being fermented with naturally occurring yeast for several days.
Following fermentation, double distillation takes place in copper pot stills to further refine and concentrate the flavors. The result is an exceptionally smooth and well-balanced tequila with notes of citrus, pepper, earthy undertones, and hints of vanilla.

Tequila is a distilled spirit made primarily from the blue agave plant (Agave tequilana), predominantly produced in the Jalisco region of Mexico, along with some areas in Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas. This unique spirit undergoes a meticulous distillation process, typically involving double distillation in pot stills or column stills. Tequila is categorized into several types based on its aging process: Blanco (unaged or aged less than 2 months), Reposado (aged between 2 months and 1 year), Añejo (aged between 1 and 3 years), and Extra Añejo (aged over 3 years). Each type offers distinct flavor profiles ranging from fresh and herbal to rich and complex.
The flavor and aroma of tequila vary significantly across its categories. Blanco tequilas are known for their crisp texture with fresh citrus notes, peppery hints, and agave sweetness. Reposado tequilas present a softer profile with vanilla and caramel undertones derived from oak aging. Añejo varieties boast richer flavors such as chocolate, coffee, and dried fruit alongside pronounced oak influence. Extra Añejo tequilas deliver complex layers of deep wood characteristics combined with smoothness. Tequila is versatile in cocktails; it serves as the base for popular drinks like Margaritas, Tequila Sunrises, Palomas, and various craft cocktails that highlight agave spirits.
