The Faust Cabernet is a blend of our estate vineyards in Coombsvilleand Rutherford and mountain sourcing in Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder and Howell Mountain. Intense yet fresh with juicy blue and black notes. Notes of dark chocolate and dried herbs pair with silky tannins and lifting acidity. A layered and lingering finish. The core of Faust comes from our Coombsville Estate as well as from our vineyards in Rutherford and Oakville. This wine jumps out of the glass with aromas of fresh black cherry and plum. Layers of savory cherry compote, earth, cedar and graphite are rounded out by a long finish with hints of dark chocolate, balanced acidity and minerality.
At Faust, they seek to express the complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon and the diversity of the Napa Valley by sourcing from our estate vineyards in Coombsville and Rutherford as well as from small lots on Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder and Howell Mountain. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it offers a beautiful core of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries and lavender with nuances of cedar chest, pencil lead and camphor plus a waft of tilled soil. The portfolio includes three wines: Faust, The Lure and The Pact. The 45 hectares (110 acres) of Faust Vineyard is located in Coombsville, one of the coldest AVAs in Napa. This vineyard is composed of well-drained river rocks and mineral-rich volcanic ash and is planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a small amount of Petit Verdot, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. Faust also buys Cabernet Sauvignon from other renowned AVA Napa Valley growers, including Yountville, Mount Wieder, St. Helena, Atlas Peak and Rutherford. The Grand Wine is made primarily from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon grown at the Quintessa vineyard in Rutherford and the estate's vineyard. in Coombsville.
