Discover Malbec Wines
Malbec is a full-bodied, rich red wine with dark, intense notes. It has lovely black fruit tastes, as well as spice aromas and floral undertones on occasion. Malbec has varying degrees of complexity depending on the winemaker and the area where it is produced. Malbec is a wine with a rich purple hue and a substantial body. Malbec grapes are tiny, dark-colored, and have thick skins, resulting in a wine with rich fruity flavors and mild tannins. Malbec has a greater alcohol content than Merlot or Pinot Noir.
About the Producer: El Enemigo
El Enemigo is an iconic wine producer from the high mountain wine region of Mendoza, Argentina. The property is a joint venture between Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil, chief winemaker at the famous Bodega Catena Zapata since 2002. Together, they created El Enemigo ("the enemy") and the Bodega Aleanna winery in 2007 and quickly gained critical acclaim for their Great Enemy. Gualtallary Cabernet Franc. The property specializes in traditional winemaking methods and produces only two wine brands: Gran Enemigo and El Enemigo. The Agrelo and Gualtallary wines in the Gran Enemigo portfolio are dedicated to Cabernet Franc varietal wines from selected vineyards, made in the characteristic Pomerol style, where Cabernet Franc is usually blended with other red Bordeaux grapes. In this case, however, Argentine vaccines account for 15% of Malbec. The standard Gran Enemigo wine, by comparison, is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Vineyard grapes, Gualtallary Gran Enemigo, are grown in rocky limestone soils at 4823 feet (1470 m) above sea level, while vineyard grapes, Gualtallary Gran Enemigo, are grown in rocky limestone soils at 4823 feet feet (1470 m) above sea level, and the grapes for the Gualtallary Gran Enemigo Agrelo vineyards are grown in clay-rich soil at an altitude of 930 m above sea level. The standard Gran Enemigo wine combines the grape varieties grown in both vineyards. The El Enemigo range is mainly dedicated to varietal wines from Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Bonard and Chardonnay, as well as the Syrah-Viognier blend. Chardonnay is produced in a style reminiscent of Jura yellow wine, where a layer of yeast, or veil, forms and protects the wine from further oxidation.
