Discover El Buho Mezcal 750ml:

El Buho Mezcal is a premium mezcal made from 100% agave Espadin in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. It is produced in small batches using traditional methods, including roasting the agave in an underground pit and distilling the mezcal in copper stills. The result is a smooth, smoky spirit with a complex flavor profile. On the nose, El Buho Mezcal has notes of roasted agave, smoke, and citrus. On the palate, it has a smooth, smoky flavor with hints of pepper, vanilla, and caramel. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of sweetness. El Buho Mezcal is perfect for sipping neat or in a variety of cocktails. Enjoy it in a classic margarita or a smoky mezcal mule.

Producer Notes: El Buho Mezcal

El Buho Mezcal is a drinks producer that specializes in creating high-quality mezcal. Mezcal is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage that is made from the agave plant. It is similar to tequila, but it is made from a different type of agave plant and has a distinct smoky flavor.

El Buho Mezcal is based in Oaxaca, Mexico, which is known for producing some of the best mezcal in the world. The company was founded in 2010 by a group of friends who were passionate about mezcal and wanted to share their love of the drink with the world.

One of the things that sets El Buho Mezcal apart from other mezcal producers is their commitment to sustainability. They work closely with local farmers to ensure that they are using sustainable farming practices and that the agave plants are being harvested in a responsible way.

El Buho Mezcal produces several different types of mezcal, each with its own unique flavor profile. Their flagship product is their Joven mezcal, which is made from 100% agave and has a smooth, smoky flavor. They also produce a Reposado mezcal, which is aged in oak barrels for several months to give it a richer, more complex flavor.

In addition to their mezcal, El Buho Mezcal also produces a range of other drinks, including a line of ready-to-drink cocktails. These cocktails are made with their mezcal and other high-quality ingredients, and they come in a variety of flavors, including margarita, paloma, and old fashioned.

Overall, El Buho Mezcal is a top-quality drinks producer that is committed to sustainability and producing the best possible mezcal. Their range of products is sure to please any mezcal lover, and their commitment to quality and sustainability is something that sets them apart from other producers in the industry.

Mezcal Varieties

In Mexico, mezcal (also known as mezcal de agave) is a distilled alcoholic beverage derived from the agave plant, a slow-growing succulent that is native to Mexico and parts of Texas and is used to make mezcal. Mezcal was first produced in the 16th century by the conquistadors, who, as invading armies are wont to do in hostile territory, made getting drunk a top priority and experimented with distilling whiskey from whatever they could find in the area they were occupying.

The history of mezcal-making evolved over time to become an essential element of Mexican culture, but it wasn't until Prohibition drove thirsty American visitors to Mexico in pursuit of a legal buzz that mezcal became widely known to drinkers in the United States and around the world.

Mezcal can be prepared from any of the more than 30 different types of agave. Tobalá, tobaziche, tepeztate, arroqueo, and espadn are the most frequent agave varieties used for mezcal production. Espadn is the most prevalent agave variety and accounts for up to 90 percent of all mezcal production.

Tequila Varieties

First produced in the 16th century, when Spanish conquerors ran out of cognac during their expedition to the New World, tequila is made by distilling the juice from the heart of a blue agave native to Jalisco, Mexico. Tequila comes in a variety of colors, from the transparent and unrestrained, known as Blanco, to the darkest aged in Reposado, Anejo and Extra Anejo vats. Popular as a main ingredient in refreshing margaritas, it is also commonly consumed pure or with the addition of lemon and salt.
