Liqueurs are an alcoholic beverage made from distilled spirits and other ingredients including sugar, fruits, herbs, and spices. They are usually highly sweetened and un-aged beyond a resting time during manufacturing, if required, allowing their tastes to mix, and are often served with or after dessert.
Liquor, on the other hand, is sweet by nature, while liquor has a powerful taste that is everything from sweet. This word is really used to describe these sweetened spirits prepared with various tastes and extracts. One of the many reasons the two words are confused is because rum, brandy, and whiskey may all be used as a base spirit for liqueur. Liqueurs are liquors that have been sweetened and diluted. Liqueurs typically have an alcohol level of about 15% (compared to 40% in liqueurs), although they may reach up to 55%.
Liquors come in a variety of tastes, ranging from sweet and creamy to citrus-flavored and everything in between. Because many liqueurs are sweet and smooth, they may frequently be drunk without mixers or complex cocktail recipes.
About the Producer: Disaronno Distellery
Following the success of this artisan trade, I.L.L.V.A.: Industria, Lombarda, Liquori, Vini & Affini (Lombardy Industry of Liquors, Wines, and Similar Goods) was created in 1947. Today, the Reina Family owns 100 percent of the facility in Saronno, where the company's headquarters are located. Many other successful Italian brands, including Disaronno, are still manufactured here today. The liqueur's first major export boom occurred in the 1960s, when it was introduced and promoted in a variety of nations as one worldwide success led to another. The United States quickly followed the European lead, developing a liking for the Italian liquor. Customers all across the world grew enamored with Disaronno, and the product received even more positive feedback than predicted. The goal was to create a bottle that reflected Disaronno's reputation for quality and heritage. A renowned glassmaker from Murano, Venice, created a work of art in the 1970s. The hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind "square bottle" was created of gently glittering glass and shaped into the now-famous "square bottle" pattern. The bottle has a clear brand picture that has only been retouched on rare occasions without losing its basic features. Disaronno Velvet Cream is one of Disaronno's most popular creations.
