Chartreuse Green - Item Code: 04259
Discover Chartreuse Green:
Discover this Chartreuse Green and get it delivered to your door. Green Chartreuse is the world’s only liqueur with an entirely natural green tint. It has a strong presence and is one-of-a-kind. Only two Chartreuse monks are aware of the 130 different plants, how to blend them, and how to distill them into the world-famous liqueur. They’re also the only ones who know which plants to macerate in order to get the natural green and yellow hues. They are the only ones in charge of the slow aging in oak casks.
Producer Notes: Carthusian Monks
Carthusian Monks are a religious order of monks who are known for producing a unique and highly sought-after liqueur called Chartreuse. The monks are based in the Chartreuse Mountains in southeastern France, where they have been producing Chartreuse since the 18th century.
Chartreuse is made from a secret recipe of 130 different herbs and spices, which are macerated in alcohol and then distilled. The resulting liquid is then aged in oak barrels for several years, giving it a complex and rich flavor profile. Chartreuse is available in two varieties: green and yellow. The green variety is the more famous of the two, and is known for its bright green color and intense herbal flavor. The yellow variety is milder and sweeter, with a more subtle herbal character.
In addition to Chartreuse, the Carthusian Monks also produce a range of other liqueurs and spirits, including Elixir Vegetal, a medicinal tonic made from 130 different plants, and VEP Chartreuse, a special edition of Chartreuse that is aged for even longer than the standard version.
The Carthusian Monks are known for their strict adherence to tradition and their commitment to quality. They produce their liqueurs in small batches using only the finest ingredients, and they continue to use the same methods that have been passed down through generations of monks.
Today, Chartreuse is enjoyed by people all over the world, and is considered one of the finest liqueurs available. Its unique flavor and history make it a favorite among bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts, and it is often used in classic cocktails like the Last Word and the Bijou.

Discover Assorted Liqueurs
Liqueurs are an alcoholic beverage made from distilled spirits and other ingredients including sugar, fruits, herbs, and spices. They are usually highly sweetened and un-aged beyond a resting time during manufacturing, if required, allowing their tastes to mix, and are often served with or after dessert.
Liquor, on the other hand, is sweet by nature, while liquor has a powerful taste that is everything from sweet. This word is really used to describe these sweetened spirits prepared with various tastes and extracts. One of the many reasons the two words are confused is because rum, brandy, and whiskey may all be used as a base spirit for liqueur. Liqueurs are liquors that have been sweetened and diluted. Liqueurs typically have an alcohol level of about 15% (compared to 40% in liqueurs), although they may reach up to 55%.
Liquors come in a variety of tastes, ranging from sweet and creamy to citrus-flavored and everything in between. Because many liqueurs are sweet and smooth, they may frequently be drunk without mixers or complex cocktail recipes.
