Casill Diablo Carmenere - Item Code: 06523
About the Producer: Casillero del Diablo
Casillero del Diablo is a value-driven Chilean brand that is part of the portfolio of Concha y Toro, Latin America's largest wine producer. Casillero del Diablo wines are made from classic Chilean grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere, and are widely available on the world market. The brand was founded in 1963, but the legend of Casillero del Diablo dates back to the 19th century in a winery. Don Melchor, founder of Concha-i-Toro. The wine was stolen from the cellar, so Don Melchor spread the rumor that the devil himself, El Diablo, lived in the cellar. Casillero del Diablo is a source of grapes from all over Chile, including vineyards in Maipo, Maule, Rapel, Casablanca and the Limari Valley. They are divided into several ranges - Reserva, The Devil's Collection, Reserva Privada and Leyenda - and are varietal and mixed. The best wines fall under the Reserva Privada and Leyenda brands.
