Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines
Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape type best known for producing dry white wines. Its taste distinguishes it from most other white wine grape types, making it light and pleasant.
The most frequent Sauvignon Blanc taste notes are tropical, tree, and citrus fruit. When the wine originates from a colder region, subtleties of dates, papaya, melon, and many aromas of herbs or dry underbrush are more prominent. You may detect pieces of English pudding, custard, and vanilla if you're exposed to oak. While it is perhaps best recognized for being the main white wine grape type in the Bordeaux area of France and the Loire Valley, sensuous Sauvignon blancs are also produced in New World wine growing locations like as Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in California. In addition, Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for being part of the mix that produces the sweet dessert wine known as Sauternes in Bordeaux.
This grape variety thrives in both cold and warm regions and a wide range of soil types. As a result, it's a little more complicated. In New Zealand, for example, the kind of soil on which Sauvignon Blanc is produced has a significant impact.

About the Producer: Cape Mentelle Vineyards
Cape Mentelle Vineyards is a wine producer located in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. The property was founded by David, Mark and Giles Honen in 1970 and is one of the oldest wineries in the region. Many of the estate's wines are produced from original plantations, including the estate's flagship wine, Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Cape Mentelle is owned by luxury goods company LVMH. The property was founded on just 16 hectares (40 acres) of vineyards, but has since expanded to 150 hectares (371 acres) at the expense of several vineyards. In Cape Mentelle's early years, production was heavily focused on red wines - David Honen experimented with grape varieties such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. In 1985, Honen founded Cloudy Bay in Marlborough, New Zealand, and after gaining worldwide recognition for his Sauvignon Blanc wines, he developed a Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon blend in Cape Mentel that has become the benchmark for the region. The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard is the iconic product that made the Margrethe River popular after receiving several major wine awards in the early 1980s. Cape Mentelle also produces a variety of other red wines, including shiraz and bordeaux. In terms of white wines, the property is best known for its Sauvignon Blanc - Semillon blend, but it also produces the renowned Chardonnay wine.
