Bolla Soave 1.5L - Item Code: 08868

Produced from grapes harvested from hillside vineyards in the Soave Classico region of Veneto, Bolla Soave has a delicate, floral aroma and a smooth, full-bodied flavor with a slight brightness. It is a fruity wine with pear and lemon flavors and a light almond flavor. Bolla Soave pairs perfectly with light snacks, soups, salads, seafood, risotto, paella, poultry and pasta.

The “grandfather’s cellar” (Cantina del Nonno), the heart of the traditional wine, has been supplemented over time with 1,700 barrels and 35 casks, still housing Slovenian oak barrels dating back to 1883. Two state-of-the-art, highly automated bottling lines complete the production process. The cellar has received UNI EN ISO 29002 certification, as well as an Agribusiness Chain of Custody traceability certificate. Winemaker Christian Scrinzi is an interpreter of Bolla’s quality. It was his grandfather who instilled in him an early passion for wine during numerous excursions to the vineyards around his home in Trentino, a renowned wine region in northeastern Italy. This early experience led Christian to complete his education in agriculture and enology and eventually to work for Gruppo Italiano Vini, where he is director of enology, responsible for creating Bolla wines and continuing the tradition of trusted quality that Americans know and love.

Discover Pinot Grigio Wines

Pinot Grigio is a white wine grape variety with grey, white red, or purple skins. (Thus the French word 'gris,' meaning 'gray.') Because the Pinot Grigio and Gris grapes are considered to be genetically fragile, color constancy is not a strong point (as seen in the photo below by Navarro Vineyards).

Pinot Grigio wines that are more ripe tend to have more tropical and tree fruit tastes, while grapes that are less mature have more pronounced citrus fruit notes. Almost all Pinot Grigio is produced as a dry white wine with a light to medium body. The finest Pinot Grigio wines are crisp, refreshing, and well balanced overall, with mild acidity and rich fruit flavors, regardless of the body.

Some varieties may have more acidity than others, depending on quality and manufacturing techniques. Especially in wine-growing areas with a cold environment.

Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape variety, but the Italian name is Pinot Grigio and the French designation is Pinot Gris.

Italian Pinot Grigio is known for its citrus and tree fruit tastes, while French Pinot Grigio is known for its tropical fruit aromas. This is dependent on a number of variables, including terroir, harvest period, and vinification styles.
