The Ancient Peaks Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Paso Robles' most consistent wines from year to year. The 2017 vintage commands excellent presence. TASTING NOTES: This wine is well-built and nicely textured. It is up-front and bold black in its fruit aromas, and its flavors stay steady through the palate and into the finish. Pair it with a Creole-spiced, grilled lamb chop. (Tasted: September 13, 2019, San Francisco, CA)

This seductive cabernet leads with savory aromas of black olive and pine. It is deep and flavorful, with an Amarone-like richness framed by firm but pliable tannins. It’s a guilty pleasure to pour with steak and chimichurri. Best Buy

Discover Cabernet Sauvignon Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine grape variety from the vitis vinifera grape plant species. It is the world's most commonly planted red wine grape variety, and its wines have lately been rated as the most sought-after in the world. When vinified properly, it may produce a full-bodied, complex, fruit-forward, and dry wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape owes most of its fame to its origins in the Bordeaux area of France. Traditionally, these wines have a strong crimson and black fruit flavor with a pronounced tannic component.

Because of its flavor profile and simplicity of production, Cabernet Sauvignon is a popular grape type among wine consumers and vintners both. The vines are very resilient, adapting to a wide range of temperatures and terroirs. They grow grapes with thick skins that are resistant to harsh conditions such as frost and hail.

Cabernet Sauvignon has large yields, which is a major plus for winemakers since it is one of the most popular red wines in the world.

Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines

Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape type best known for producing dry white wines. Its taste distinguishes it from most other white wine grape types, making it light and pleasant.

The most frequent Sauvignon Blanc taste notes are tropical, tree, and citrus fruit. When the wine originates from a colder region, subtleties of dates, papaya, melon, and many aromas of herbs or dry underbrush are more prominent. You may detect pieces of English pudding, custard, and vanilla if you're exposed to oak. While it is perhaps best recognized for being the main white wine grape type in the Bordeaux area of France and the Loire Valley, sensuous Sauvignon blancs are also produced in New World wine growing locations like as Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley in California. In addition, Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for being part of the mix that produces the sweet dessert wine known as Sauternes in Bordeaux.

This grape variety thrives in both cold and warm regions and a wide range of soil types. As a result, it's a little more complicated. In New Zealand, for example, the kind of soil on which Sauvignon Blanc is produced has a significant impact.
